A reed diffuser scents a room through air movement and evaporation — which means placement matters almost as much as the diffuser itself. Room By Room

Entryway

The single best spot in most homes. It's the first thing people smell walking in, and the foot traffic and door-opening airflow help carry scent naturally.

Bathroom

A classic for a reason — small, enclosed space means even moderate throw fills it completely. Keep it on the counter, not directly beside the exhaust fan, which pulls the scent out before you smell it.

Bedroom

A dresser or nightstand works, but keep it a few feet from your pillow — reed diffusers are subtle at close range and it's easy to place one too close to fully notice it.

Living room

Console tables and shelving near (not directly under) a window give the best air movement. Avoid tucking it behind furniture or inside a closed cabinet.

Home office

A corner of the desk or a nearby shelf — just keep it out of direct airflow from a fan or AC vent pointed at you, which disperses the scent before it builds.

Closet or laundry area

Slightly enclosed spaces like this are actually ideal — a diffuser here traps just enough scent to make a real difference without needing much airflow at all.

⚠️ Spots that waste a good diffuser: directly under an AC vent or ceiling fan (air movement carries scent away faster than it can build), inside a closed cabinet with no airflow, and directly beside a frequently-open window — nice-looking on a sill, but half the scent leaves with the breeze.
